Clean India and the changes it has brought

Clean India campaign is no new phrase to Indians. It dawned on us that our country is totally littered and that a campaign is necessary to keep it clean. We appreciate the clean up of The Ganges, the participation of public figures in cleaning and also take pride in posting comments and pictures on the campaign. Well, I would like to be answered to one question. Is the word Clean used as a verb or adjective?

Because I see the Corporation employees cleaning one side of the road every morning and the citizens littering the other side of the road.

Because I see that people articulate their thoughts on Clean India till they go thirsty and throw out a bottle from their sedan.

Because I see men with bare hands segregating waste in the garbage lorry and people throw a bouncer of garbage right from their windows.

Are we aiming to just sweep India or stop sweeping the roads once for all? What do we teach or even preach our children, that we miserably fail to practise? If people in Metropolitan cities and corporation are well educated, then why do smart cities need sweepers?

Once for all lets stop sweeping the floor. Let it stink. Let it rot. Let us learn a lesson. Stop cleaning the littered. Stop littering.
