Even after a 20 minute hunt for a book in the library to read, i was unable to find a book that would solace me. Struck by deprivation, I decided to leave the library, but not after sighting Dr.Abdul Kalam's 'Target Three Billion'. A little hesitation made me think twice whether to take the book or not. But then something made me bag the book and urged me to give it a try. For a girl who fancies novels and mostly thriller and fiction stories, to read 'Target Three Billion' was not a run of the mill task. With little patience at hand, I started reading the book just after my college hours.
I was literally moved by the first introductory chapter ' THE ELIXIR OF RURAL EXPERIENCE FROM A NATION OF DIVERSITY'. Dr.APJ had narrated a few moments of his visit to various places of India. I was taken aback by one instance, his visit to a Himalayas-bordered-state, Arunachal Pradesh. I was well able to visualize the ambiance through Dr. APJ's narration. I was even moved to tears on reading the dreams of deterministic soldiers, their perseverance and confidence.
Though I have not passed reading a handful of chapters in the book, I feel the heat, just after reading the initial chapters. I advise, this book is a must read for all Indians. After all, I am proud to have selected one good book in my lifetime.
